The neuland.ai Research Team: Innovation at the highest level for AI Made in Germany

Research as a Competitive Advantage

The development of leading AI technology requires more than just technical expertise; it demands a strong research foundation and a clear focus to tackle complex real-world challenges.

Many companies rely on external research partners, but neuland.ai takes a different approach: with its own research team embedded within the company’s solutions organization, neuland.ai differentiates itself clearly. This team enables practical innovations to be translated directly into products and applications, which is especially beneficial for German SMEs and large regulated companies.

A Unique Research Model for SMEs

neuland.ai is committed to developing AI "Made in Germany" and optimizing it specifically for the needs of German SMEs and large companies. Conducting in-house research is an extraordinary approach, especially for a relatively smaller company like neuland.ai.

The in-house research team ensures that technological sovereignty is reinforced and enables the development of solutions that are not only scalable but also reliable and secure in the long term. This is a crucial factor given the complex challenges that companies in highly regulated and knowledge-intensive industries must tackle today.

WestAI: A Testament to Success

An outstanding example of the competence and commitment of the research team is the recent access granted to the cluster infrastructure of RWTH Aachen University. neuland.ai was selected by the WestAI AI Service Center for the use of 10,000 hours of GPU computing on one of Europe’s most powerful academic high-performance computing infrastructures. Only about 20 percent of applicants receive this opportunity. The infrastructure allows the newly established research team to further develop and expand the core technology of neuland.ai and strengthen the company’s position.

The plan is to work on complex, large-scale research projects, including robust enterprise reasoning systems that securely support companies in automated decision-making processes. neuland.ai's success in this area highlights the importance of research and the technical expertise of the company.

"Access to WestAI is a true accolade and confirms our strategic direction. It gives us the opportunity to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence further and to develop solutions that significantly support our customers in their complex tasks."

Yunus Uyargil, CTO of neuland.ai.

The neuland.ai Research Team: Structure and Expertise

The research team is part of the solutions division, led by Dr.-Ing. Anoj Winston Gladius, who ensures that all new ideas from research and experimentation are directly integrated into robust applications and customized solutions.

Within this division, the applied research group, under the leadership of Dr. rer. nat. Qutub Syed Sha, forms a dedicated unit. The focus of this group is on cutting-edge topics such as AI security, interpretability, LLM systems, multimodality, and agent workflows, which are facilitated by large-scale computing power such as that provided by "WestAI."

The team consists of several PhD scientists and research engineers and collaborates closely with leading universities across Europe. Furthermore, more than 20 experienced AI engineers regularly dedicate part of their time to applied research, creating a continuous innovation cycle: research - development - application.

Benefits for Customers: Practical Research for Real Challenges

An in-house research department brings direct benefits to neuland.ai’s customers. The research at neuland.ai focuses on developing reliable solutions that meet the highest standards while being economically viable.

This is particularly important for German SMEs, as well as for companies in regulated industries, whose needs are specifically addressed by practical research involving robust and interpretable AI systems.

"Our work is consistently aligned with the real challenges faced by companies. By combining research, product development, and implementation, we actively accompany our customers on their path to becoming an AI-first organization. This practical research not only creates added value but also ensures that our customers benefit sustainably from the use of the neuland.ai HUB."

Yunus Uyargil, CTO of neuland.ai.
