Why the great AI transformation needs platforms and not tools

We are at the beginning of one of the greatest transformations in economic history: “The great AI transformation.” Yet this development is far more than just the introduction of new technologies; it is the dawn of a new era – the era of “collaborative intelligence”!

Collaborative intelligence will not replace people with artificial intelligence; rather, as a new colleague, it will take over routine work, freeing us from tedious tasks and creating time again for what truly matters. Because it is not that we have too little work - but too little time for what matters most, and in many tasks we are not productive enough.

Successful AI projects need an AI platform – this is confirmed by current studies from McKinsey, BCG, KPMG, Arthur D. Little, Deloitte, PWC & Co.

The scenario in a company:

There is a spirit of optimism: every department relies on its own AI tools to optimise processes. Marketing uses ChatGPT for copywriting, controlling works with a specialised BI tool, product development relies on cloud-based image analysis. In addition, there are numerous specialist applications introduced by individual teams.

This creates a patchwork:

  • Tool sprawl: Each application brings its own interfaces, logins and data formats. The IT department loses oversight, and sources of error accumulate.

  • No unified knowledge context: Information is scattered across different tools and data silos. Cross-departmental knowledge exchange is hardly possible – key insights are lost.

  • Higher activity, but not higher productivity: Employees spend a lot of time transferring data between tools, fixing errors and familiarising themselves with new applications. Actual value creation falls by the wayside.

Solution 1: Rein in tool sprawl – central orchestration with the HUB

The neuland.ai HUB combines all AI applications on one platform. Interfaces are managed centrally, and new tools can be integrated or replaced flexibly. IT retains control, sources of error are minimised, and the system landscape remains clear and stable.

Solution 2: Unified knowledge context – knowledge integration in the HUB

The HUB links internal and external data sources, industry-specific ontologies and expert knowledge into a shared knowledge space. This creates a central, searchable context for all departments,  knowledge is shared, synergies are unlocked.

Solution 3: From activity to productivity – automation and repeatability

With the HUB, AI workflows are automated and standardised. Data flows run smoothly, routine tasks are handled reliably. Employees gain time for value-creating activities, and productivity increases measurably.

The real challenge, therefore, lies in enabling people and organisations to trust the results of AI, AI workflows, AI assistants and AI agents, and to accept them as an integral part of their own working world.

neuland.ai HUB as an AI management and orchestration platform

The neuland.ai HUB is the leading AI management and orchestration platform for company-wide AI deployment. It is the one AI platform your company needs to reorganise your business processes and IT systems around AI – secure, agile, compliant, reliable and legally compliant.

Trust as the new currency of this transformation

Because only when employees experience AI as a reliable partner can the full potential of this technology be unlocked. Without trust, change remains fragmented – with trust, it becomes the engine of sustainable value creation. The parallels with the Industrial Revolution driven by the steam engine or with digital transformation driven by the internet are obvious: back then too, people had to learn to work with new technologies rather than feel threatened by them.

But the speed and depth of the current AI transformation are unprecedented. Companies that wait now risk falling behind. As a recent Google AI study states: “It will be hardest for the companies that wait!”

Our approach is based on three central principles:

empower – Empower your employees with the knowledge of your company, your experts and your industry (industry competence models).

protect – Protect your company knowledge in the protected AI space – the “Safe AI Space”.

transform – Enable continuous and agile AI transformation.

Because new tools alone will not move us forward. Microsoft’s Copilot approach is also too limited; even Microsoft CEO Nadella says so. The limits of a product-centric knowledge graph are all too clear. In terms of knowledge and semantic search, Microsoft Copilot is primarily limited to Microsoft products and data sources (such as SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook and Teams).

This means there is no way to systematically integrate company-specific knowledge, industry-specific ontologies and complex feedback loops. Copilot can automate routine tasks, but it only draws on knowledge within the Microsoft domain and therefore often produces context-poor results with little connectivity – a typical Workslop risk. This limitation is critical, especially in regulated professions and sensitive mandate processes. – external, company-specific or industry-specific knowledge bases remain excluded. This changes radically with the integration of the neuland.ai HUB. Statement by Nadella

AI is not a tool or add-on. It is the new core of your company!

Or as Nvidia’s CEO aptly puts it:

“In future, companies will have two factories: one for their products and one for their AI applications.”

Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia

With the neuland.ai HUB, we offer an AI platform designed precisely for this new era: modular, flexible, data-protection-compliant and certified for the highest regulatory requirements. It enables companies to deploy AI securely, collaboratively and trustworthily – on-premises, hybrid, or in the cloud. Our goal is to empower organisations and their employees to actively shape AI transformation and win the future together with AI.

Transformation is not a one-off project, but a continuous process – a mindset, a discipline, a journey. Comparable to the change caused by the internet, it was not the companies that understood the internet as a tool (Neckermann, Quelle, newspaper publishers, etc..) that were most successful, but the companies that organised their business (Amazon, Zalando, Meta, etc..) around the internet.

In the great AI transformation, the companies that will emerge as winners are those that reorganise their company, their processes and their business model around an “AI management and orchestration platform”!

We wish you every success in shaping your own great AI transformation with courage.
