Three sets of annual accounts, one application, and the key figures sit in eighteen different places.

The corporate customer submits three years of annual accounts, plus the current management accounts and the trial balance. The analyst copies revenue, EBIT, equity and liabilities year by year into the scoring model's template. If a figure does not match the previous year, the search through the PDF starts all over again.

3financial yearsThree years of annual accounts are on file for the credit application as PDFs.
6key figures per yearRevenue, EBIT, equity, liabilities, cash flow and fixed assets go into the model.
18fields by handSix key figures over three years, each from a different page of the accounts.
5 daysturnaroundBetween receipt of the application and the credit vote, most of the time goes on this collection work.

The analyst starts on the credit vote rather than on typing up figures, and the credit decision comes 40 to 60% faster.

The 40 to 60% acceleration in credit decisions is this agent's headline figure. Six key figures over three financial years are a typical set-up for a corporate application, not a measured value.

Three steps through the process.

The credit officer rules on creditworthiness; the agent gathers the figures and flags where the documents contradict each other.

Extract the key figures from the accounts

The agent reads the balance sheet, income statement and notes and extracts the six key figures for each of the three years. For every value it notes the page where it found it.

Feed the values into the scoring model

The agent feeds the key figures into the internal scoring model and checks the application details against the documents. Every discrepancy gets a field name, an amount and a reference.

Scoring log, liabilities 2.3 million euros in the notes compared with 1.9 million euros in the application

Place the vote template in the credit file

The agent fills in the credit vote template with key figures, scoring result and risk flags. Every value carries a page reference to its source.

What the agent does not do.

It does not approve the loan.

It compiles key figures, scoring result and risk flags. Approval and rejection are signed off by the credit officer.

It does not assess the value of collateral.

It reads the section III entries and the amount from the land register extract and adds both to the credit file. The mortgage lending value of the property is set by the back office, for larger properties on the basis of an external valuation.

None of its sources records what was said in the meeting with the managing director.

It evaluates the documents submitted and the data in the core banking system. The credit analyst adds whatever the relationship manager brings back from the meeting to the vote herself.

The questions that come up before the first meeting.

How quickly is the Credit Assessment Agent ready to use?

A pilot typically runs on your own data within 6 to 8 weeks. The agent connects to your existing systems rather than running as a separate, parallel environment.

Where is the data processed?

EU cloud, private cloud or on-premises. Processing is GDPR-compliant and models are never trained on your data. Details in the Trust Center.

Where does the figure “40 to 60% faster credit decisions” come from?

It is based on experience from comparable projects and process benchmarks, not a commitment. We work out the realistic effect for your organisation during the assessment before the pilot.
