Regulatory Reporting Agent

The submission hinges on one workbook. Even the person who maintains it no longer knows where each row comes from.

Automates regulatory returns and supervisory reports.

How each reporting item is derived is documented only in the formulas of a workbook that has grown over the years.

Balances come from the core banking system, risk weights from the risk system, accruals from the ERP. It all comes together in a workbook nobody would build from scratch today. When an item stands out in the plausibility check, the question of where the number came from is harder to answer than the number itself.

What used to make up most of the reporting work, gathering the 27 items from three systems, shrinks to a single run with a source for every row and delivers the 70% reduction in reporting effort.

The 70% reduction in reporting effort is this agent's headline figure. Twenty-seven reporting items and a window of four working days reflect a typical quarterly run; they are not measured values.

Three steps through the process.

The agent compiles the return and shows the source of every figure; the regulatory reporting manager is responsible for submission to the supervisory authority.

Merge balances from the source systems

The agent pulls the items as at the reporting date from the core banking system, risk system and ERP. For each field it records which query the value comes from.

Recalculate totals and signs

The agent recalculates totals, signs and the comparison with the previous quarter. If an item deviates noticeably, it names the field, the amount and the source system.

Place the draft return in the follow-up queue

The agent places the completed form in the reporting team's follow-up queue. Each row shows which system and which query the figure comes from.

What the agent does not do.

It does not submit the return to the supervisory authority.

It provides the form with a source for every field. The regulatory reporting manager is responsible for submitting it on time.

It does not resolve questions of interpretation on the reporting form.

If an item deviates from the previous quarter, it names the amount, field and source system. Where there is doubt, the compliance officer clarifies how the requirement should be read, if necessary with the supervisory authority.

Postings after the reporting date are missing from its aggregation.

It works with the balances the source systems deliver as at 30 June. Controlling posts late entries and then starts the run again.

The questions that come up before the first meeting.

How quickly is the Regulatory Reporting Agent ready to use?

A pilot typically runs on your own data within 6 to 8 weeks. The agent connects to your existing systems rather than running as a separate, parallel environment.

Where is the data processed?

EU cloud, private cloud or on-premises. Processing is GDPR-compliant and models are never trained on your data. Details in the Trust Center.

Where does the figure “70% less reporting effort” come from?

It is based on experience from comparable projects and process benchmarks, not a commitment. We work out the realistic effect for your organisation during the assessment before the pilot.
