Risk Management Agent

The early warning signal is already in the data. It only gets noticed in the next monthly run.

Uses data to identify market, credit and operational risks.

A portfolio of 1,400 corporate clients, monitored with one analysis a month.

Limit utilisation comes from the risk system, account movements from the core banking system, the sector outlook from research reports. The risk controller looks at it all once a month, because the analysis is put together by hand every time. Whatever happens in between only shows up in the next run.

1,400corporate clientsThat is the size of the monitored portfolio at a mid-sized bank.
5indicators per clientLimit utilisation, returned direct debits, rating, payment arrears and sector outlook.
7,000individual values per runFive indicators across the whole portfolio, each with the previous month's value alongside.
30 daysbetween two runsThat is how long it takes before a deterioration is even noticed.

Seven thousand individual values are narrowed down to twelve names for the next intensive management review: up to 40% faster risk analysis.

Up to 40% faster risk analysis is this agent's headline figure. A portfolio of 1,400 corporate clients with five indicators per client is an assumed scope, not a measured figure.

Three steps through the process.

The agent collects early warning signals and ranks them by how unusual they are; risk controlling decides whether any of them leads to an impairment.

Collect indicators from the core systems

The agent reads limit utilisation, returned direct debits, rating and payment arrears from the risk and core banking systems and adds the sector outlook from research reports. Every value is shown next to the previous month's for comparison.

Rank anomalies by severity

The agent picks out the clients where several indicators deteriorate at once. The order follows from the size and duration of the change.

Pass the watchlist to intensive management

The next intensive management review gets a watchlist sorted by severity. Each client comes with the trend of all five indicators.

What the agent does not do.

It does not reset the limit.

It reports utilisation with its trend and threshold. The responsible approval authority decides on a reduction on the recommendation of front and back office, and the change is entered in the risk system.

It does not judge whether an anomaly points to a default risk.

It sets the five indicators side by side and shows their trend over six months. The risk manager makes the assessment and records it in the watchlist.

If the bank holds a corporate client under two customer numbers, it counts the client twice.

The two only come together through the customer group link in the core banking system. If that entry is missing, the limit utilisation appears in two lines of the watchlist, and the risk controller merges them by hand.

The questions that come up before the first meeting.

How quickly is the Risk Management Agent ready to use?

A pilot typically runs on your own data within 6 to 8 weeks. The agent connects to your existing systems rather than running as a separate, parallel environment.

Where is the data processed?

EU cloud, private cloud or on-premises. Processing is GDPR-compliant and models are never trained on your data. Details in the Trust Center.

Where does the figure “up to 40% faster risk analysis” come from?

It is based on experience from comparable projects and process benchmarks, not a commitment. We work out the realistic effect for your organisation during the assessment before the pilot.
